Hello preschool families,
We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family. What a lovely break from our busy lives and a true gift of time together. We all have so much to be thankful for…
P3 and Pre-K families, thank you again for meeting with me last week. It is always a pleasure to have time to talk about your children. They are all so dear to me and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support.
When you arrive at school next week, you will find a Christmas tree with gift tags in the foyer. This year, once again, we are going to be helping out the West Seattle Food Bank in the form of a Board Game and Diaper Drive. The tags will either request a board game or a pack of pull-up diapers which will go directly to the food bank. All of these items will be distributed to West Seattle families who will be so appreciative. If you would like to participate, please take a tag off the tree and return all gifts to the preschool by December 14.
Illness – Please be sure that your child is fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school after an illness. Thank you!
Book Order – Our holiday book order is due on December 3. There are so many wonderful and affordable options. Please see the email from Renee with the order number. These are perfect holiday gifts!
Snack – Thank you for the lovely snacks that you have been bringing for the children. Just a reminder that there is no need to send individually packaged items as we have “community snack”, where the children serve their food from large bowls at their tables. This is actually a really important social time in each day. Also, we try to create as little waste as possible, so a couple of boxes of crackers, some cheese, and some fruit/vegies would be great. (Oh whatever other creative snacks you would like to send). Also, the kids all bring a water bottle each day, so no need to send juice boxes. Thank you!
Food Drive– Thank you for all of your generous donations to St. Vincent de Paul. One of the members told me that they were low on donations this year, and the shelves were fairly bare. They were overjoyed to see what you, our wonderful preschool families, brought in. Thank you for your generosity!
P3 and Pre-K CHRISTMAS PROGRAM– Our Christmas program takes place on Tuesday, December 18th at 6:30pm in the School Hall. Please arrive with your child (in their holiday attire) at 6:15pm and escort them into classroom 1A (just down the hall from the main school office). We will start the program promptly at 6:30pm, as we need to consider bedtimes for young ones. Altogether, the program will last no more than one hour.
Holy Rosary Christmas Tree Lot – Please be sure to visit the Holy Rosary School Tree Lot to purchase your Christmas tree this year! A portion of the proceeds benefit Hickman House, West Seattle Food Bank and the West Seattle Helpline, as well as the everyday operations of Holy Rosary School. The tree lot is located on the playground of the big school and will be open from Friday, November 23 – Sunday, December 16.
