I want to share some exciting preschool news with you – We will be having a 2’s class next year! The class will meet on Monday and Friday mornings from 8:30-11:00. Sara and I will be teaching it. We are so excited. Please spread the word. (Children must be 2.5 and potty trained by August 31.)
Happy Catholic Schools Week! In celebration of Catholic Schools across the nation, we have special activities planned all week long.
Tuesday – Community Outreach Day
*Wear Green
*We will be picking up trash on our playground for service
*We will deliver a banner and flowers to West Seattle Christian as a thank you sharing their parking lot
Wednesday – Pajama Day
*Wear your jammies and bring your favorite stuffie to school
*We will have a special breakfasty snack
Thursday – Hat Day
*Wear you favorite hat in class all day
*3/4’s will bring treats to the rectory staff
Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly!! We will be making special valentine boxes/bags in class to hold all of our valentines. On the morning of February 14th, please send in a card for each student in class. They may be labeled with each child’s name (or not). If labeled, it’s more challenging for the kids to find each person’s box/bag. But, if they’re up for the challenge, then by all means! We have a total of 15 children in our class.
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
Literacy – This week’s letter is the letter J. Please have your child bring a J item on Wednesday.
Our songs, stories, and poems will focus on the letter J and Groundhog Day.
Math – Match My Number – The children make a set of objects to match the number given.
Faith Formation – We will talk about Jesus’ Life Story. Children will also begin to pray the Angel of God prayer.
ABC Music & Me – We will begin a new unit this week – Animals-a-Dancing.
