Dear Families,
Thank you to each of you for making this a wonderful year of teaching. We cannot express to you how much we have enjoyed each of your precious children. They have brightened our days. We wish for each of your families a happy, healthy and relaxing summer!
Below are some suggestions for summer. Of course the most important thing to do is PLAY!
Math:
There are so many excellent math games available. I recommend Guess Who, Sequence, Uno, and good old fashioned cards. I also encourage you to practice counting aloud and writing numbers.
Reading:
Read every day! Enjoy books and stories whenever you can. I highly recommend that you sign up for the summer reading program at any branch of the Seattle Public Library.
Faith Formation:
Make time for prayer each day. Summer is a good opportunity for your family to attend Mass together in order to grow more comfortable with the Liturgy.
Here are some additional recommendations from past preschoolers:
*collecting pretty rocks at Alki – (and counting them!)
*building forts out of driftwood at Lowman Beach
*working in the garden
*painting rocks
*running in the sprinkler
*making mud pies
*snuggling up and reading with Mom or Dad!
*having a lemonade stand
