Dear Families,
Happy Halloween week!
Thank you to Everett’s mom, Sarah, for organizing our Halloween celebration and to everyone who is bringing goodies. We will be having a short party on Thursday at 10:40. We encourage you to send your child to school in orange and black (rather than costumes). However, please join Holy Rosary School for the HRS Trick or Treat event on Friday from 1-2:30! This is a great opportunity for children to wear their costumes and celebrate Halloween in a safe, fun environment. Thank you!
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES –
Literacy Time – Our songs, poems, and stories will focus on pumpkins and of course, Halloween!
Faith Formation – Children will learn about saints and why our Church celebrates All Saints Day. They will listen to stories of saints like St. Francis of Assisi, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Angel Gabriel.
Math – We will focus on counting up to ten items with an emphasis on 1:1 correspondence.
Science – Pumpkins!

Extra News and Upcoming Events
All West Seattle Preschoolers are welcome to come trick-or-treat out of the rain and cold at Holy Rosary classrooms on Friday, Oct. 28th from 1-2:30pm! We will have a mix of candy and non-candy items. Children 5 and under are welcome with an adult. Please tell your friends!
Preschool Conferences –. You will be receiving a conference sign up email soon. If you are unable to make it during the scheduled times, no worries. Just email me and we can easily set up a meeting time before or after the Thanksgiving week.
Jackets to Preschool – As the weather becomes cold and wet, please be sure to send your child with a jacket, labeled with your child’s name. We will try to get out to recess unless it is terribly cold or rainy.
Christmas Program – Please mark your calendar for our Preschool Christmas Program on December 14.
