Hello Preschool Families!
I hope you and your kiddos are settling into a great start to the school year! I have really enjoyed seeing them in class and was so thrilled to watch them at the fire truck this week! It is hard to believe, but we have begun the process of planning for next year. As part of it, we are investigating options for our pre-K classroom, and are considering the possibility of offering a full-day pre-K option. Before we move forward with any potential planning on this, we want to first gauge interest. I will be placing a brief survey in your student’s filer this week. If you could please complete it and leave it in the “turn-in” box in the preschool, I would really appreciate it.

And now for our Weekly News…
Many thanks to everyone who was able to help out with the fire engine visit on Wednesday. We so appreciated the parent chaperones and cookies for the fire fighters! The children were incredibly polite and perfectly behaved. What a darling group!
Thank you to everyone who sold magazines! The preschool passed our goal! This is a huge fundraiser for the school and your support is so greatly appreciated!
You will find a Handwriting Without Tears letter formation page in your child’s filer. Please use this as a reference when working on letter formation at home. I do encourage you to work with your child to learn to write his/her name. Feel free to catch me after class if you’d like some guidance with this.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES –
Literacy Time – Our songs, poems, and stories will focus on opposites (big/little, long/short, up/down) and of course, Halloween!
Conflict Management – Asking for What You Need or Want
ABC Music & Me – Laugh & Learn: Unit 2 – Home Sweet Home
Math – Our focus on opposites will be included in our math lessons this week. We will work to sort items into two groups while continuing to count and identify colors and shapes.

Wednesday, 11/11 – NO SCHOOL – Veterans Day
11/21 – 11/23 – PRESCHOOL CONFERENCES (Preschool not in session all week) You will receive a sign up in a separate email in the next couple of weeks.
