Happy week!
The Seattle Fire Department will visit the preschool this Wednesday. This will be an exciting day for the children, as they will get to see a fire truck up close (and even sit in it). They are scheduled to arrive at 10am (provided there’s no emergency at the time). The parent sign up sheet is in the foyer. As you know, the archdiocese does require that all volunteers have completed Safe Environment Training, so once you have signed up, I’ll let you know if you have any additional pieces to complete. Thank you!
The following week, on Thursday, October 20, one of our Pre-K dads, who is a firefighter, will be coming to our class to talk about fire safety.
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES –
Literacy – Our songs, stories, and poems this week will focus on Fire Safety and Shapes.
Faith Formation – We will talk about loving actions and unloving actions. We will learn that God will help us to be loving and good.
ABC Music & Me – Our songs are rhythm activities will focus on Home Sweet Home.
Math – We will continue to work on number recognition, counting, and shapes.

Extra News and Upcoming Events
Halloween Party – We will have a short party on Thursday, October 27 at 10:40. We will be keeping it simple this year. The children will decorate a Halloween cookie and possibly complete a small craft. Many thanks to Everett’s mom, Sarah, for coordinating this!
We have posted our volunteer calendar on the bulletin board in the foyer. We would love to have you join us in the classroom!
Preschool Conferences – Our Parent Conferences are coming up in November. Please refer to your preschool calendar. There will be no school on November 21, 22, or 23 as we will be conferencing during those days. You will receive a pre-conference form and an opportunity to sign up for your preferred time slot as we get into November. Preschool will be closed November 24 and 25 for Thanksgiving.
