What a wonderful first week of preschool! Sister, Sara, and I feel absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to teach your darling children this year.
When you come to preschool on Tuesday, we ask that you help your child wash his or her hands, sign them in, and have them find their name tag on the blue table and place it in the pocket chart in the classroom.
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES –
Literacy – We begin our discovery of colors and shapes through stories, songs, and poems.
Math – Number recognition, counting, and shape recognition
Second Step – Listening
The Listening Rules Song (Tune: Frere Jacques)
Eyes are watching,
Ears are listening,
Voices quiet,
Bodies calm,
This is how we listen,
This is how we listen,
At group time,
At group time.

Children will begin to understand that God created the world because he loves us and to understand that God created me, others and all I see.

Extra News and Upcoming Events
Contact Information – Always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns that may arise. Email is best at tevans@holyrosaryws.org. The emergency phone number is (206)937-7255. If you need to get in touch with us during class, please call this number and the office will contact us via intercom.
Health & Safety – In an effort to keep everyone healthy, we have a 24 hour fever-free policy at Holy Rosary. Please be sure that your child is fever free for an entire 24 hour period before sending him/her back to school after an illness.
Preschool attire and potty time –Some buttons, snaps and zippers can be difficult for little hands to handle themselves. We ask that you be sure to send your child to school in clothing that they are able to take off and on by themselves for potty time. Elastic waistbands are perfect for this age. We also ask that you talk to your child at home regarding help with wiping, as this is not something that we are able to assist them with at preschool. Something that works well for a lot of children is to be sure to leave time for “potty time” at home before coming to school. Some type of pull up diaper is perfectly fine if you are concerned they may have an accident.
Water Bottles – Please send a water bottle to school with your child each day.
Jackets/Toys – Please be sure to send your child to school with a jacket or sweater (clearly labeled with his or her name), as we will be going outside each day. We ask that your child please not bring toys to school. We do not want any personal items lost or broken.
Family Photo – Please bring a photo of your family for our front bulletin board, if you have not already.
Individual Photos – These will be taken on Tuesday, September 20. You will receive an order form in your filer this week. You can either order online or return the form on picture day.
Friday, 9/16 thru Saturday 9/17 – WestFest
Tuesday, 9/20 at 8:45 am – Individual Photo Day
Enjoy the week!
