Dear Families,
Welcome to our first week of preschool! It was such a pleasure getting to meet all of you during Parent Night and Meet the Teacher Day. I am so excited to get to teach your child!
Before I begin with the details of our first week, here is a note to you from our principal, Ms. Horton:
Dear Preschool Families,
I wanted to take the opportunity to welcome you and your family again to the 2016-2017 school year at Holy Rosary Preschool. It was so sweet to see some of the kids coming to great their teachers the past few days, and I know Teacher Tauna, Teacher Sara, and Sister Juanita have been working very hard for their arrival on Tuesday. I hope you will soon come to feel the connections between the preschool and what the kids call the big school, as we are all one community dedicated to the success of your children. Many exciting things will await your children this year and I am excited to have the opportunity to get to know our newest families.
Please know I am here to walk alongside you in this journey, as both Holy Rosary School’s Principal, but also as a parent of a child in the preschool. It is going to be a tremendous year. If I can be of any support, if you have questions, or are ready to learn more about the big school, please do not hesitate to contact me.
In Christ,
Anna
Please refer to the “First Day Jitters” note that was in your filer this week. It really does have some great tips for the first day of school.
Contact Information – Always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns that may arise. Email is best at tevans@holyrosaryws.org. The emergency phone number is (206)937-7255. If you need to get in touch with us during class, please call this number and the office will contact us via intercom.
Also, please sign up for the email blasts from the Big School. This is very important in case there is an emergency while your child is here.
Proper preschool attire and potty time –We ask that you be sure to send your child to school in clothing that they are able to take off and on by themselves for potty time. Elastic waistbands are perfect for this age. We also ask that you talk to your child at home regarding help with wiping, as this is not something that we are able to assist them with at preschool. Something that works well for a lot of children is to be sure to leave time for “potty time” at home before coming to school. Some type of pull up diaper is perfectly fine if you are concerned they may have an accident.
Water Bottles – Please send a full water bottle to school with your child each day.
Jackets/Toys – Please be sure to send your child to school with a jacket or sweater (clearly labeled with her or her name), as we will be going outside each day. We ask that your child please not bring toys to school. We have an amazing assortment of stimulating manipulatives and play items. We do not want any personal items lost or broken.
Family Photo – Please bring a photo of your family for our front bulletin board, if you have not already.
Individual Photos – Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 20 for individual photos. We will be heading up to the big school at 8:45 for our photos.
A photo form will be in your child’s file sometime over the next week. Please complete and bring it with you on photo day.
